Flooring on Cape Cod, done the Fornalski way
A floor is only as good as what is under it. We start with the subfloor, flatten and secure it, and only then run the new material, so the finished floor lies quiet and stays that way. Transitions, thresholds and shoe molding get finish-carpenter attention, because that is where a floor job shows its quality.
We install hardwood and luxury vinyl plank, patch and blend repairs into existing floors, and replace flooring as part of larger remodels. Older Cape homes with out-of-level rooms do not scare us, they are most of what we work on.
Floors are unforgiving, since every seam and transition sits in plain sight and underfoot. We let the wood acclimate properly, prep the subfloor flat and lay each course tight and straight, then wrap the job with clean transitions and baseboard that finish the room instead of apologizing for it.

Hardwood or luxury vinyl, which should I pick?
Hardwood brings warmth and can be refinished for decades, luxury vinyl shrugs off water, sand and dogs. It usually comes down to the room and how your family lives, and we will give you a straight recommendation either way.
Can you match my existing hardwood for a repair?
In most cases yes. We patch in matching material and blend the finish so the repair disappears into the room instead of announcing itself.
Do you fix squeaky or uneven floors?
Yes. Squeaks and dips are subfloor problems, and fixing them properly is the first step of every install we do. Sometimes that repair alone is the whole job.
Do I need to move all my furniture out?
We work room by room and help stage furniture as we go, so the disruption stays manageable. For whole-home installs we plan the sequence with you before day one.
