Tile Flooring across our service area, done the Fornalski way

Isometric illustration of tile flooring work on a Cape Cod home

Tile is the hardest floor to fake. A little flex in the subfloor turns into cracked grout, a raised edge you catch with a bare foot, or a tile that sounds hollow when you step on it. So most of a good tile job happens before the first piece goes down: we check the framing, stiffen what needs it, flatten the surface and choose the right underlayment for the room.

We install porcelain, ceramic and natural stone in bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, mudrooms and entries, from large format plank tile to marble mosaics like basketweave and herringbone. Sandy feet, wet boots and salt air are part of life near the water, and a well built tile floor shrugs all of it off.

Layout is where tile looks custom or looks cheap. We plan every floor from the center of the room out, so cuts land evenly at the walls and doorways instead of leaving a sliver at the threshold. Grout joints stay consistent, transitions to wood floors sit flush, and baseboard and trim go back on clean. It is the same finish carpentry standard we bring to the rest of the house, applied to stone.

Happy client 😍! The 4nalski brothers are outstanding professionals family business! Young, responsible, and incredibly friendly, they bring a cheerful, laidback energy that makes communication easy and enjoyable. They took on the full renovation of my home β€” including floors, deck, walls, kitchen, and bathroom β€” and even built custom cabinets, closets, and the entire bathroom from scratch. They showed true dedication every step of the way. It's rare to find this level of commitment, professionalism, and fair pricing all in one team. Highly recommended!

Common questions

Is tile a good choice for a bathroom floor?
It is the best one we know. Porcelain and stone handle water, steam and daily cleaning without swelling or staining, and with the right underlayment a tile bathroom floor lasts as long as the house. We pair it with a properly sloped and waterproofed shower so the whole room is built for water.
Porcelain, ceramic or natural stone, what is the difference?
Porcelain is dense, absorbs very little water and is tough, which makes it the safe pick for most floors. Ceramic is lighter and great on walls and in lower traffic rooms. Natural stone like marble brings real veining and character, and it needs sealing and a little more care. We bring samples and help you match the material to the room.
Why do some tile floors crack?
Almost always because of what is underneath: a subfloor that flexes, a floor that was never flat, or a structure that moves. We check the framing, stiffen it where needed, and use the right underlayment or uncoupling membrane so the tile is not carrying stresses it was never meant to.
Can you install tile over my existing floor?
Sometimes. If the existing floor is flat, sound and firmly attached, tile can go over it with the right prep. Often the cleaner answer is to remove it and start from the subfloor. We look first and explain which path makes sense for your room.
Can you put radiant heat under a tile floor?
Yes. Tile is the perfect partner for an electric heated floor mat in a bathroom, mudroom or kitchen. We plan the layout and prep the floor for it, and the electrical connection is coordinated with a licensed electrician.
